The following comment popped up on our recent “Medford Doesn’t Play Nice” post, and we thought it was worth passing on.
Hi, we have a martial arts program in Arlington on 1100 Massachusetts Avenue that is run through the Cambridge Center for Adult Education.
Jujitsu & Ground Fighting: Jujitsu is the parent art of aikido, judo, and several styles of karate. Often called the ultimate self-defense, jujitsu techniques can be used against unarmed and armed attacks. We will practice blocks, strikes, kicks, joint locks, falls, ground fighting, and the use of pressure points in various self-defense scenarios.
Learn simple, easy-to-remember tips and techniques and develop a basic knowledge of the positions and techniques used in grappling and submission wrestling as you participate in a rigorous and energizing workout.
All experience levels and styles of practice are welcome. Wear comfortable workout clothing or a judo gi. Sundays, 11:00 am-1:00 pm & Tuesdays 7:15pm-9:15 pm.
I have run classes in the Cambridge area for 15 years and this is a fairly new location for us, so we would appreciate any support. We have a knife & stick seminar coming up on 4/29, 1:30-3:30 pm with Grandmaster Ken DeJesus.
Thank you,
Eric Bornstein

Chushin Dojo Jujitsu Club is proud to host our first formal weapons seminar (Filippino Knife & Stick Fighting) with Grandmaster Ken DeJesus on Sunday, April 29 from 1:30-3:30 pm at our location at 1100 Massachusetts Avenue in Arlington, MA. This is the first of a proposed regular monthly weapons program with Guru Ken. Regular participants will qualify for ranking in the Philippine Martial Art Society, the rigorous system that was endorsed by Guro Ken’s Instructor, the famous Remy Presas Sr. The fee for this special 2-hr all-levels workshop is only $25. For our registered jujitsu students, we offer a discounted rate of $20. Other weapons specialists of his caliber charge up to $100/session for similar material. Please take this opportunity to show how much we value Guru Ken’s generosity in coming in to develop this special weapons program at our dojo. We are conveniently located between Arlington Center and Arlington Heights. There is ample free parking at the dojo and regular buses from Harvard Square. Please try to arrive at 1:00 pm to register. We would appreciate payment by cash or check.
Grand Master Punong Guro Ken DeJesus has been featured on TV, newspapers and magazines.
